KatadataOTO – The Mazda CX-3 and CX-5 will be launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025. The presence of these two models was revealed in an invitation received by KatadataOTO.
The presence of both is believed to make it easier for people to choose a vehicle that suits their needs.
“We will present two products, one being a facelifted model while the other is a new variant. This will give consumers more options,” said Ricky Thio, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (30/06).
It was previously reported that Mazda plans to launch two models at GIIAS 2025. Each will enter the small SUV and large SUV segments, respectively.
In Thailand, Mazda has already launched the latest CX-3, adding the name Essential. The changes are not significant as the car still retains the Kodo design, the company's signature.
However, some developments have been made, such as the addition of a new grille and newly designed wheels to make it look more dynamic.
Entering the cabin, the appearance is quite attractive. The dominant black color gives the car a sporty impression and adds value.
It includes a 2,000 cc Skyactiv-G engine that produces 156 hp and 204 Nm of torque. This power is channeled to a 6-speed automatic transmission to provide driving pleasure.
Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-5 is expected to come with some minor changes for customers in Indonesia. The developments will likely follow the MS Limited Edition version as seen in Malaysia.
The developments include the grille, bumper, side mirrors, and the use of 19-inch wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Mazda CX-5 MS Limited Edition features a sporty look. Some red stitching has been added to reinforce this impression.
It was previously reported that Mazda will be present again at GIIAS 2025. They are targeting 800 vehicle orders during the exhibition, which is lower than their achievement at the same event last year.
At that time, they managed to record 833 vehicle orders throughout the event. That number was already down from GIIAS 2023, where they achieved 1,003 vehicle orders.
“We will try our best at GIIAS 2025, and 800 vehicle orders is the target. That will come from all Mazda models,” concluded Ricky Thio.
