In the financial report published on May 12, 2025, Mazda confirmed the assembly location of the CX-30 SUV in Indonesia.
KatadataOTO – Mazda is in the process of building an assembly facility located in the West Java area. There is no official information regarding its development yet, but the factory will assemble SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles).
However, it was later revealed in Mazda's financial report as of March 2025, that the Japanese manufacturer will assemble one of its flagship SUVs in Indonesia, namely the CX-30.
“Local production of the CX-30 model in Indonesia will also be promoted,” wrote Mazda's official statement, quoted on Tuesday (20/05).
It should be noted that, unlike a number of manufacturers who utilize other facilities such as those owned by PT HIM (Handal Indonesia Motor), Mazda is building its own factory with a total investment of around IDR 400 billion.
In the report, it was also explained that the construction of a local assembly facility is one of the strategies to face the impact of the implementation of import tariffs.
The hope is that Mazda's sales can remain stable and spread across various global countries, including Indonesia.
“We sell vehicles in 130 countries and want to provide the best possible stability in various production locations,” wrote a Mazda representative in the report.
For your information, the majority of models offered by Mazda in Indonesia are SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles). These models are considered to be quite popular with domestic consumers.
Besides the CX-30, Mazda has a number of other products such as the CX-5, CX-60, and their first PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in Indonesia, the CX-80 PHEV.
The Mazda CX-30 was launched in Indonesia in early 2020, after debuting at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. At that time, the price was offered at around IDR 478 million.
The engine used is the latest 2,000 cc Skyactiv-G, producing 155 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm, channeled through a six-speed automatic transmission.
If assembled locally, there is a chance its price will be adjusted. The CX-30 units are currently still imported as CBU (Completely Built Up) from Japan.
Currently, the Mazda CX-30 is offered at a price of IDR 585.5 million. That figure is OTR (On The Road) Jakarta and is subject to change at any time.
