KatadataOTO – MG Motor Indonesia ensures that all its models have a high level of safety before being launched in the country. This is a form of their commitment to protecting their users.
The company's move is certainly an added value, considering that most car manufacturers are currently only focused on electrification technology. However, driving safety is also a determining factor for people when buying a vehicle.
“For MG, safety is not just about meeting standards but providing peace of mind on every journey. We want our customers to feel confident in every design and technology decision we present,” said Jason Huang, CEO of MG Motor Indonesia.
They proved this commitment with the achievements of their models in various safety tests. All of MG's electric vehicle models, such as the MG4 EV, MG ZS EV, and global models like the MG S5 EV, have achieved a five-star rating from Euro NCAP.
Meanwhile, MG's gasoline-engine models in Southeast Asia also recorded impressive results by achieving a five-star rating from ASEAN NCAP.
The high achievements they have reached are inseparable from the many features in the vehicle. MG integrates active and passive safety systems comprehensively to provide optimal protection in various driving conditions.
On the active safety side, MG presents advanced driver assistance technology packaged in the MG Pilot system. This technology includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
In addition, there are also Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition features that provide warnings when the vehicle exceeds the speed limit or passes certain signs.
Meanwhile, on the passive safety side, MG strengthens each vehicle with a body structure designed using high-strength steel and crumple zones to absorb impacts. A multipoint airbag system, seat belts with pretensioners, and a high-performance braking system.
“We believe that the future of mobility must not only be smart and sustainable, but also safe for all. MG will continue to invest in safety technology to ensure that every one of our vehicles is ready to protect,” concluded Jason Huang.
