The MG S5 EV could appear at GIIAS 2025, but there is no information yet on whether the model will be sold.
KatadataOTO – MG S5 EV (Electric Vehicle) is believed to be one of the Chinese electric cars that will enliven the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event.
Although MG has not clearly disclosed the plan, the S5 EV is a product that can be considered to have potential.
The electric car first appeared in China in 2024 before being launched in other global countries. One of them was Thailand through the Bangkok Motor Show 2025 exhibition last April.
In the land of the white elephant, the presence of the MG S5 EV is touted as a replacement for the ZS EV. The price is in the range of 719,900 baht-899,900 baht (Rp 360.6 million-Rp 450.8 million).
Based on KatadataOTO's search, the MG S5 EV has a chance of being presented at GIIAS 2025. However, it is not yet certain whether the unit will be for sale or just for display.
“Regarding the unit, information will be provided if it launches at GIIAS 2025,” said an MG salesperson contacted by KatadataOTO on Monday (14/07).
For your information, there are three variants of the MG S5 EV offered, starting from SE, SE Long Range, and Trophy Long Range.
The top type uses wheels that are one inch larger than other variants, namely 18” Rotor Style Alloy Wheels.
In terms of design, its appearance is simpler and tends to be 'calmer' compared to other MG models in Indonesia such as the MG 4 EV.
The MG 4 EV looks sporty with lines across the body and sharp angles, and there is the use of additional components such as a black-colored spoiler.
The L x W x H dimensions of the MG S5 EV are 4,476 mm x 1,849 mm x 1,633 mm, and its wheelbase is 2,730 mm.
The MG S5 EV is equipped with various modern features, from Automatic Climate Control with Rear Vents, Rain Sensing Wipers, a V2L (Vehicle to Load) function, five driving modes, to keyless entry.
The entertainment sector is supported by a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, six speakers, as well as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity.
The highest variant of the MG S5 EV is equipped with a 64 kWh capacity battery, claimed to offer a range of 288 miles (463 km) on a single charge.
For urban mobility, its range is said to be even more capable, reaching 400 miles or about 643 km with a fully charged battery.
