Minister of Industry Gives Support to Hyundai Stargazer Cartenz at GIIAS 2025

KatadataOTO – The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 officially opened on July 24, 2025. In the 32nd edition of Indonesia's largest automotive exhibition, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) is present to help drive the progress of the Indonesian automotive industry.

Hyundai marks its participation in GIIAS 2025 with the launch of the STARGAZER Cartenz and STARGAZER Cartenz X, introduced as “The Real Indonesian Car” that is made for Indonesian roads. 

A day after its launch, the vehicle immediately received appreciation from the government through a visit by Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry (Menperin) of the Republic of Indonesia, to the Hyundai booth located in Hall 2 of the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City.

During his visit, the Minister of Industry signed a STARGAZER Cartenz X unit as a form of appreciation and support for strengthening the Indonesian automotive industry.

The Hyundai STARGAZER Cartenz will also be exported and developed according to global market needs, affirming Hyundai's commitment and Indonesia's strategic role as an international-standard production hub.

During the visit, Agus Gumiwang was accompanied by Ju Hun Lee, President Director of Hyundai Motors Indonesia, and Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motors Indonesia. 

On this occasion, Ju Hun Lee explained the various advanced technologies embedded in Hyundai's latest model, ranging from Shift by Wire (SBW), Built-in Navigation, to the active safety feature Hyundai SmartSense.

Such as the Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM), Surround View Monitor (SVM), and Rear & Front Parking Distance Warning, which have been designed to meet the driving challenges on Indonesian roads.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang also showed his enthusiasm for the design and features of the STARGAZER Cartenz and STARGAZER Cartenz X.

He directly experienced the interior comfort of the STARGAZER Cartenz X, which offers a spacious cabin, captain seat configuration, and a premium feel that has been tailored to the needs of the Indonesian public.
