KatadataOTO – PT Krama Yudha Ratu Motor (KRM) is trusted to produce Mitsubishi Fuso vehicles in Indonesia. For more than 50 years, they have successfully demonstrated their commitment to maintaining quality.
Now, the facility located in Pulo Gadung has produced several vehicle models. So people can buy according to their needs.
“We produce two models, namely Canter and Fighter,” said Duljatmono, President Director of PT Krama Yudha Ratu Motor.
He also explained that the vehicle production capacity at PT KRM reaches 60,000 units per year. However, they currently only produce around 25,000 units per year.
“Approximately one Canter unit can be completed every 3.5 minutes, while a Fighter takes about 10 minutes,” he then added.
However, this time can reportedly be adjusted as needed to maintain product availability. So customers do not have to wait long when making a purchase.
All products are made under the strict supervision of the global Mitsubishi Fuso quality control system. Assembly is carried out entirely at the PT KRM factory, from chassis assembly, engine installation to running tests.
This factory has also implemented a QR code-based production tracking system on the cabin and chassis. So the progress and potential defects of each unit can be monitored in real-time.
“We will develop this system into a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as a strategic step towards comprehensive integration between production processes,” he said.
This system makes the production process more optimal. This is because data management becomes transparent and real-time, thereby increasing efficiency and quality.
Although equipped with various technologies, most of the production process is still handled by humans. Moreover, inspections are continuously carried out at every stage to ensure everything meets the standards.
It should be noted that PT KRM applies the international standards IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015. With this, every production process runs consistently and meets global quality standards.
Nevertheless, he admitted that there are some products that must be repaired before entering the next stage.
“Our factory is indeed not Zero Defect, but it is certain that the number is very small. Even better than the standard set by the principal,” Duljatmono affirmed.
