KatadataOTO – Pre-orders for the Jaecoo J5 EV have been open since the GIIAS 2025 event. The presence of this car is an attractive option for customers because its price is quite competitive, ranging from IDR 350 million to IDR 450 million.

This price tag is claimed to have successfully attracted hundreds of people to place orders for the vehicle.

“Since GIIAS 2025 until now, the number of orders has exceeded 200 units,” said Ryan Ferdiean Tirto, Head of Product at Jaecoo Indonesia.

Unfortunately, he did not specify which variant was most in demand by customers. He only mentioned that the product will be launched soon.

“It will be launched next month, but the exact date cannot be announced yet, though it will likely be before GJAW 2025. Then, the units will be delivered to customers immediately,” he added.

The Jaecoo J5 EV itself will be assembled directly in Indonesia, utilizing the facilities of PT Handal Indonesia Motor. The car is claimed to have met the 40 percent TKDN (Local Component Level) regulation, making it eligible for government incentives.

In terms of appearance, the Jaecoo J5 EV features a bold yet modern design thanks to the use of a closed grille on the front. The car is also equipped with headlamps with DRLs, making it even more visually appealing.

To enhance its luxurious appearance, the vehicle is equipped with a fairly large panoramic roof.

Interestingly, the Jaecoo J5 EV uses a 60.9 kWh capacity battery. Thanks to this, the Chinese manufacturer claims that the car can travel up to 470 km on a single charge.

This power is then used to operate an electric motor that can produce 155 kW of power, equivalent to 207 hp, with a peak torque of 288 Nm. This performance enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 7.3 seconds.

There are various features within the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) included, complete with six airbags. Thanks to this, it is hoped that drivers can more easily maintain driving safety.
