Amidst the challenges of the restructuring process, Neta ensures it will continue to operate and serve Indonesian consumers.
KatadataOTO – Chinese electric car startup, Neta is currently facing various challenges, especially amidst a restructuring process.
As a result, Neta is adjusting the number of its dealer outlets in Indonesia and overhauling the after-sales services offered to local consumers.
Despite this, Neta has confirmed that Hozon Auto, as the principal, has no plans to leave the Indonesian market.
“To this day, I have been coordinating with China and the Neta management in China who handle the Indonesian market, and Neta will not leave,” said Irvan Mustafa, Head of Marketing at PT Neta Auto Indonesia, to KatadataOTO on Thursday (22/01).
Hopefully, consumers need not worry because a range of after-sales services, such as servicing and spare parts, will continue to be provided by Neta.
Currently, Irvan emphasizes that Neta is focused on preparing after-sales service outlets according to the needs of domestic consumers.
Regarding sales, he revealed that there are no new units for the Neta V-II or Neta X electric car models, but there is remaining stock from last year.
Furthermore, it seems there are no further plans to introduce new products in the future.
“The focus is indeed on after-sales. Because some of our Neta users are more focused on after-sales service,” Irvan affirmed.
The Neta electric car made its debut in the country in August 2023, specifically at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023.
Their first model was the Neta V, which was a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, or fully imported from its country of origin.
However, the following year saw the arrival of the Neta V-II, an updated version that was locally assembled at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) facility.
They also later launched the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Neta X in September 2024, offering larger dimensions than the Neta V-II.
With two models, Neta ended 2025 with total retail sales of 406 units and wholesales of 657 units.
The distribution of Neta cars from dealers to consumers experienced a slight decrease from 2024, which was 570 units.
