KatadataOTO – BYD Atto 1 continues to be the talk of the town among Indonesian automotive enthusiasts. Because now the price of the electric car has increased.
According to them, there are several reasons why the price of the BYD Atto 1 slightly increased in October 2025.
“One of the reasons is because we are still import-based, which is subject to currency fluctuations,” said Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Public and Government Relations at BYD Motor Indonesia at GJAW 2025.
Indeed, the rupiah's exchange rate against foreign currencies is very influential. So it is natural for the price of the BYD Atto 1 to increase slightly.
In addition, Luther revealed that the product's price during its initial launch was positioned as an introductory price.
As the market response grew, BYD conducted a thorough evaluation. This was done to strengthen the service infrastructure.
Starting from expanding the dealer network, improving after-sales services, to ensuring unit distribution readiness amidst long queues of orders.
“This is all essentially due to significant demand, so that we can provide consistently good service,” he continued.
For your information, the price increase for the BYD Atto 1 only occurred for the lowest trim. It was originally Rp 195 million, and is now Rp 199 million.
Meanwhile, the highest trim of the BYD Atto 1 is still marketed at Rp 235 million. Therefore, this electric car remains affordable.
Luther also hopes that the public's reception of the BYD Atto 1 in Indonesia can continue to grow.
