KatadataOTO – Polytron has officially started production of the G3+ and G3 in Indonesia on a semi-knocked down (SKD) basis at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor facility in Purwakarta. Interestingly, they have also invested in the production line to make it more modern and comprehensive.
They have invested in Dyno Test equipment that can be used for FWD, RWD, and AWD vehicles. A real-time battery temperature monitoring feature is also available to be applied during the performance test process to ensure performance and safety from the start.
Not only that, Polytron also includes an Electric Safety Test stage in the entire production process. There are at least four main testing points conducted: after battery installation, assembly, rain and water leak test, and at the pre-delivery center (PDC).
“This entire process shows that Polytron is strict about safety standards, production quality, and customer satisfaction,” said the Chief Executive Officer of Polytron in his official statement (18/07).
In addition, Polytron has invested in a special assembly line including Vacuum Filling Machines (for filling brake oil, refrigerant, coolant), Dynamic Performance Test Equipment, Safety Testing Equipment, and ADAS Calibration Equipment.
It was previously reported that Polytron launched its electric cars, the G3 and G3+. Both have their own advantages.
Polytron G3+ comes with a quite attractive appearance thanks to its 20-inch wheels and 245/45 tires. The manufacturer has also installed several additional features such as a panoramic sunroof and an electronic tailgate.
Meanwhile, the Polytron G3 is only equipped with 19-inch wheels and 235/50 tires. Features like the panoramic sunroof and electronic tailgate have been removed to make its price more competitive.
However, the cars have many similarities, including their dimensions. The car is recorded as having a length of 4,720 mm, a width of 1,908 mm, a height of 1,696 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
Both the Polytron G3 and G3+ are also equipped with a 51.916 kWh LFP battery. This power is then used to operate an electric motor capable of producing 150 kW or about 201 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
