Polytron claims the battery rental scheme has boosted sales of the G3 and G3+ during the initial launch of the vehicles.

KatadataOTO – Although still a new player, Polytron is optimistic about being positively received by the Indonesian market. This is because they have an offer for their customers.
Unlike most other electric car manufacturers, Polytron offers a battery rental scheme for its products. This makes the vehicle's price much more affordable than buying the complete unit.
“The price difference can be around Rp 100 million. If customers use that money for investment, the profits can be used to pay the battery rental fee,” said Tekno Wibowo, Commercial Director of Polytron, to the media (06/03).
This scheme is claimed to have successfully attracted people to make a purchase. In fact, most sales currently use the battery rental system.
“Currently, sales have reached tens of units. Of that number, 60 percent use the battery rental system,” he added.
Sales are also believed to continue to grow until the end of the year. Especially since they have a fairly high target.
“The hope is 1,000 units by the end of the year with the current model. Because there are no plans to launch a new product in the near future,” he then added.
It should be noted that Polytron launched their first electric car, the G3, in early May 2025. The model already has a 40 percent TKDN (Local Content Level) and is assembled at the facility owned by Handal Indonesia Motor.
There are two variants that customers can choose from, namely the G3 and G3+. Both have similar battery specifications, which is an LFP with a capacity of 51.916 kWh. This power is used to drive an electric motor with 150 kW or about 201 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
Although it has quite high performance, its range is quite long. Polytron claims the car can be used for up to 402 km on a full charge.
However, the Polytron G3+ has several feature advantages such as a panoramic roof that makes the car more luxurious. This variant is priced at Rp 299 million when using the battery rental system, while if you buy the complete version, the price jumps to Rp 459 million.
Meanwhile, the Polytron G3 can be owned for Rp 339 million using the battery rental scheme. But if you buy it as a complete unit, the price becomes Rp 419 million.
