KatadataOTO – Polytron's electric car finally greeted the Indonesian public today (06/05). The electric vehicle is ready to compete with previous EV brands in Indonesia.

The Polytron electric car offers various advantages. Starting with a claimed range of 402 km (CLTC) on a full battery.

Then, recharging is also made easy for users. To recharge from a 20 - 70 percent battery condition, it only takes less than 45 minutes.

"We are starting this step with an innovation that is easily accessible to Indonesian families. Hopefully, the presence of this Polytron electric car can meet the needs of the community," said Hariono, Chief Executive Officer of Polytron in Jakarta (06/05).

Marketed in two variant options, namely G3 and G3+. This electric car is offered with a battery rental (subscription) option.

The Polytron G3 with the battery rental system is priced at IDR 299 million and the G3+ version at IDR 339 million.

Meanwhile, for the outright purchase system, the Polytron G3 is sold for IDR 419 million and the G3+ type is released for IDR 459 million.

The hope is that it can attract the Indonesian public, as its price is quite affordable.

In terms of dimensions, the Polytron G3 and G3+ have a length of 4,720 mm, a width of 1,908 mm, a height of 1,696 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

Based on the figures above, this electric SUV could be a worthy competitor to the Aion V, Chery J6, and even the MG ZS.

The Polytron G3 itself is said to be locally assembled. The factory is located in Purwakarta, West Java, and is a facility owned by PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).

"This Polytron G3 electric car has already achieved a TKDN (Local Content Level) of 40 percent. This is extraordinary because with a higher TKDN, we can reduce imports," said Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry, on the sidelines of the unit's launch.
