KatadataOTO – Polytron G3 was recently officially launched in the country. The electric car adds to the selection of environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicles in the country.
The product is also claimed to have a high TKDN (Local Component Level) value.
“I have received a report that its local component level is quite high, the self-assessment has reached 40 percent,” said Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry, in Jakarta some time ago.
Agus said that the achievement of this EV (Electric Vehicle) is quite a source of pride for the national automotive industry.
Because it can reflect the extraordinary progress in manufacturing capabilities in the country.
“The self-assessment should not change much from the certificate, it should not decrease,” Agus continued.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Tekno Wibowo, Commercial Director of Polytron. He said that the TKDN value of the Polytron G3 signifies the company's strategic step in supporting government policies.
Especially to strengthen the ecosystem of electric cars produced domestically. So that it can encourage the progress of producers in the country.
“In the initial stage, we are focusing on accessible local components. This is our commitment to supporting the automotive industry and domestic components,” said Tekno.
Tekno explained that one of the local components in the Polytron G3 is the LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) battery. It is claimed to be sourced from a manufacturer operating in Indonesia.
“We have collaborated with a local battery supplier. So the battery is also included in this 40 percent TKDN calculation,” said Tekno.
He further explained that the choice of LFP energy storage not only supports their product's TKDN. But also considers the safety aspect.
“According to our team, LFP has a better safety record. This is important because as a new player, we don't want to take big risks,” Tekno emphasized.
In the future, this manufacturer is determined to increase the TKDN value of the Polytron G3. They are even opening up the possibility of producing components independently.
“We will see which parts we can make ourselves,” Tekno concluded his statement.
