Polytron Sales Report in Indonesia 2025, Positive at Year-End

KatadataOTO – Polytron electric cars are a new option for consumers who want a competitively priced and locally assembled electric car.

The manufacturer, which assembles cars in Kudus, Central Java, officially entered and enlivened the national automotive market in May 2025.

Equipped with the G3 and G3+ electric cars, Polytron began delivering units to consumers two months after its launch, in July 2025.

Polytron faces stiff competition from various other brands. Especially after many Chinese electric car manufacturers entered Indonesia, aided by import incentives.

Throughout July 2025, Polytron only delivered six electric car units to consumers. But the numbers continued to increase slowly.

In August, the number rose to 12 units, then 29 units in September. Then for the first time in October, Polytron sales reached 103 units.

Polytron's sales dropped drastically towards the end of the year, with 58 units throughout November 2025.

However, like most other brands, December 2025 ended on a positive note. Polytron's sales reached their highest figure in that period at 145 units.

Overall, in the July-December 2025 period, Gaikindo data shows that Polytron's sales were 353 units.

Polytron Faces Local Assembly Challenges

Previously, Polytron stated that it had received a positive response from the Indonesian public.

However, they faced obstacles in meeting consumer demand, which was slowly increasing.

“The people who assemble are still new, they need a learning process. Then there are some components that are sometimes lacking, so we have to wait, that's all,” said Tekno Wibowo, Commercial Director of Polytron in Jakarta some time ago.

Therefore, adjustments need to be made by the manufacturer in assembling Polytron electric cars.

In an effort to meet consumer needs, Polytron will still focus on selling one electric car model to consumers, namely the G3.

As of now, there is no further information regarding Polytron's product portfolio for the Indonesian market this year.
