KatadataOTO – BYD's sub-brand, Denza, is believed to be preparing several new models for the Indonesian market. Out of the many options, two have a high chance of being introduced.

It should be noted that Denza had previously registered several names in early January 2025. For example, B5, B8, N9, Z9, Z9 GT, and D9L.

However, there are three that have a chance of being introduced first, as they were showcased to consumers at automotive events like GIIAS 2025.

The first model is the Z9 or Z9 GT. This electric sports hatchback was first presented at the IIMS 2025 exhibition.

At that time, the Denza Z9 GT was displayed in a special area to demonstrate its crab walk technology.

This car is also claimed to have high performance with three electric motors, delivering 965 hp and a peak torque of 1,150 Nm to all wheels (All Wheel Drive).

However, the Denza Z9 GT is also available in a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) option that uses a 2,000 cc turbo engine.

Then there is a new version of the D9 called the D9L. Recently, a model suspected to be the Denza D9L was caught being road-tested under camouflage in its home country, China.

There are several additions to the Denza D9L that make it superior to the previous variant, such as the addition of a LiDAR sensor.

In terms of exterior, there seem to be no significant changes. It still carries a similar design language to the Denza D9 currently marketed in Indonesia.

However, its dimensions are said to be longer than the D9, with a length of 5,400 mm. For comparison, the Denza D9 has dimensions of L x W x H at 5,250 mm x 1,960 mm x 1,920 mm and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.

For your information, BYD has not yet directly confirmed which new models will be brought to consumers.

However, they have confirmed that they will introduce models from other segments to complete the Denza lineup in Indonesia.

“We will introduce other Denza segments. Hopefully, there will be sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and even off-road SUVs,” said Eagle Zhou, President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia in Jakarta some time ago.
