To modify electric car audio, a special amplifier with an A2B connection system must be used.

KatadataOTO – Modifications are not only done by owners of gasoline-powered cars. However, Electric Vehicle (EV) users are also applying them.
However, modifying an electric car should not be done carelessly. Especially for the audio parts or system.
“For electric cars, there is only one solution, you can't use a conventional model (amplifier). There is only one product, the brand is called Goldhorn,” said Andreas Tjahjadi, CEO of Audio Plus Indonesia in West Jakarta, Tuesday (01/07).
Andreas explained that the amplifier has an A2B (Automotive Audio Bus) connection. It is claimed to be able to control all the audio in the vehicle.
From the left and right turn signal sounds, reverse sensors, to managing voice commands to operate various features.
Then, the system's response to voice commands in the vehicle is also channeled through the vehicle's speakers.
“There is also something called active noise cancellation. So when the car is running, there is a feature to dampen the sound of the wheels, making it very silent,” he continued.
Therefore, to modify an electric car's audio, it is recommended to use the Goldhorn AB218 product or amplifier.
That way, all audio systems in the vehicle can run smoothly. There are no problems at all.
“For speakers, you can use standard models. But for the amplifier, you must use one that has an A2B system,” Andreas emphasized.
For your information, the A2B system is commonly found in Chinese electric cars. Starting from BYD, Denza, Chery to Wuling.
In addition, it is also relied upon by four-wheeled vehicles from manufacturers like Hyundai and KIA. The Toyota Alphard is also claimed to have used the A2B system.
Now, for the cost of modifying an electric car's audio, you have to spend around Rp 30 million to buy the amplifier from Goldhorn.
“The (cost) for speakers is relative, because the number of speakers in an electric car is greater and they use an immersive system,” said Andreas.
For your information, an immersive audio system is a technology capable of presenting sound as if it is all around the listener, or three-dimensional, not just from the front.
“An electric car makes us feel as if we are inside the music. Similar to Dolby Atmos in a movie theater,” Andreas concluded.
So, users must prepare additional funds if they also want to replace their electric car's speakers.
