KatadataOTO – Seres is preparing to launch a new product, the E3. The electric car will be marketed at the PEVS (Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show) 2025 exhibition.
Its presence is claimed to challenge a number of EVs (Electric Vehicles) that have already hit the roads in the country.
“It will be a competitor to the BYD Atto 3 and Chery Omoda E5,” said Cing Hok Rifin, Director Sales Center of PT Sokonindo Automobile in Jakarta, Monday (24/03).
According to him, the Seres E5 electric car targets the medium SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) segment like the two products above. Because it offers a very similar size.
This EV has a length of 4,385 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, a height of 1,650 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,655 mm.
Meanwhile, the BYD Atto 3 has dimensions of 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, 1,615 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm.
As for the Chery Omoda E5, its length is 4,424 mm, width is 1,830 mm, and height is 1,588 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,630 mm.
Cing Hol Rifin also hopes that his new product will receive a positive response from automotive enthusiasts in the country.
Moreover, the price offered for the Seres E3 is claimed to be more affordable than the two electric cars above.
“We are creating our own affordable electric SUV segment with a price range of Rp 300 million to Rp 400 million,” he continued.
As a reminder, the price of the Chery Omoda E5 is from Rp 425 million to Rp 505 million. Then, the BYD Atto 3 is sold from Rp 470 million to Rp 520 million.
All of these EV prices already include the electric car incentive from President Prabowo Subianto and his administration.
For your information, orders for the Seres E3 will open at PEVS 2025. The exhibition will take place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta from April 29 to May 4.
