KatadataOTO – The choice of electric cars in Indonesia seems set to become more diverse in 2026. Recently, the Stelato S9T was registered on the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) website.

The Stelato S9T is an electric-powered station wagon resulting from a collaboration between Huawei and BAIC.

In its home country, the Stelato S9T debuted in September 2025 with a starting price of 309,800 yuan. This figure is equivalent to around Rp 731.2 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.

In Indonesia, no manufacturer currently offers an electric station wagon. The Stelato S9T has the potential to be the first such model in the country.

This model is registered with Industrial Design application number A00202406760 by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, located in Guangdong, China.

The Stelato S9T is quite long. Its L x W x H dimensions are 5,160 mm x 2,005 mm x 1,492 mm with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm.

This station wagon is said to offer a number of advantages for its users. The rear seats can be folded flat with the cabin floor, providing extra space for cargo or camping needs.

Its roof can also support an extra weight of up to 50 kilograms on a roof rack. Not to be missed is the frunk, or front trunk, a typical feature of electric cars, on the Stelato S9T, providing an additional 38 liters of space.

In its home country, the Stelato S9T is offered in Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) options.

The EREV type uses a 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh battery. Combined with a gasoline engine, the Stelato S9T offers a comprehensive range of 1,305 kilometers when the battery and fuel tank are full.

Meanwhile, the pure electric variant of the Stelato S9T uses a larger 100 kWh battery. Its range is claimed to be 801 kilometers on a single charge, based on the CLTC testing method.

The interior is luxurious and has the character of a modern Chinese electric car. There are not many physical buttons, and the cabin is dominated by a light brown color.

Its safety system is supported by LiDAR, radar, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, and four microphones to assist the driver while driving.

If it comes to Indonesia, the Stelato S9T will not have any competitors yet. But it will be an interesting newcomer amidst the fierce competition of Chinese electric cars.
