KatadataOTO – PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) has announced the arrival of its first electric car, the Suzuki e Vitara, in early 2026. The model was previously presented as the eVX concept at the GIIAS 2024 event.

The eVX is an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) concept car designed for mobility on various terrains, including off-road.

Suzuki explained that the eVX combines sophisticated technology with adventurous characteristics. The production version of this car will then be released under the name e Vitara.

“The e Vitara will be officially launched in early 2026. This strategy is an important achievement in our efforts to create a sustainable future and our commitment to delivering the best product and technology innovations,” said Minoru Amano, President Director of PT SIS at JIExpo Kemayoran, on Thursday (13/2).

It should be noted that Suzuki has also just announced its latest strategy in the Indonesian market, namely the multi-pathway approach. Where the manufacturer will introduce various environmentally friendly vehicle innovations, not limited to hybrid cars.

“At IIMS 2024, Suzuki introduced a new multi-pathway strategy to achieve carbon neutrality,” he emphasized.

Currently, Suzuki only offers hybrid vehicle models to Indonesian consumers, namely the Ertiga Cruise, XL7 and Grand Vitara. All three are equipped with Mild Hybrid technology.

For your information, the Suzuki e Vitara has debuted in India, specifically at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo on January 17, 2025.

This is Suzuki's first strategic BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), which is claimed to have been adapted to the needs of their consumers.

In terms of design, its posture is still similar to the eVX Concept. However, some adjustments are visible, such as the door handles which are no longer flush-style but conventional.

On the rear doors, the door handles are placed on the side of the door, similar to the Honda HR-V. This makes its appearance not only sporty but also elegant and minimalist.
