KatadataOTO – After presenting the eVX concept car, PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) has brought in the eWX prototype, which has a more compact size and a futuristic look.

Unlike the eVX, which is an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), the eWX is touted as the electric version and successor to the Karimun Wagon R city car.

“This innovative crossover combines the fun and practicality of a mini wagon; its design is suitable as a daily driving companion,” said Minoru Amano, President Director of PT SIS at JIExpo Kemayoran, Thursday (13/2).

He emphasized that Suzuki has a new multi-pathway strategy to achieve carbon neutrality through various approaches, including both hybrid cars and BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles).

“I am confident our hybrid cars make a real impact in reducing carbon,” he asserted.

Not only that, Suzuki also presented a complete product line at its booth during the exhibition. The eye-catching Jimny test drive area also returned, just like last year.

For your information, the Suzuki eWX is still a prototype and debuted at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. This is the first time the S-badged manufacturer has presented the eWX in Indonesia.

However, there is still no detailed information regarding the concept car, including its specifications and power source configuration. But the Suzuki eWX is claimed to have a range of 230 km on a single charge.

The Suzuki eWX has compact dimensions with a length of 3,395 mm, a width of 1,475 mm, and a height of 1,620 mm, which is not much different from one of their flagship products, the Jimny, at 3,652 mm x 1,645 mm x 1,720 mm.

Suzuki has indeed begun to aggressively introduce its affordable electrification line to the Indonesian public. The models offered use mild hybrid technology, such as the Ertiga Cruise and XL7 Hybrid.

Then, towards the end of 2024, news of their latest hybrid model, the Fronx, began to circulate after a unit was allegedly spotted undergoing road tests in the Bekasi and Cikarang areas.

The Fronx has a chance to be introduced to the Indonesian market as a replacement for the Ignis, which has now been discontinued.

The Suzuki Fronx uses the same mild hybrid technology as the Ertiga and XL7. Therefore, there is a chance the price tag offered will not be much different and can remain affordable for many consumers.
