KatadataOTO – Suzuki has once again recorded a positive achievement in driving safety. This is because the Fronx successfully achieved a five-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP.
This demonstrates the company's commitment to developing driving safety. Moreover, the model will be sold in various countries, including Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In testing, the Suzuki Fronx managed to score 36.71 points. This score was achieved after the car was tested in four categories: Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS).
For AOP, the Suzuki Fronx scored 36.71 points. From this test, Frontal Impact scored 13.74 points, Side Impact 7.63 points, and Head Protection Technology 8 points.
ASEAN NCAP assessed the front passenger compartment as stable in the frontal impact test. Data from the test dummy indicated that the chest was adequately protected, but the driver's lower right leg had poor protection.
Meanwhile, for COP, the Suzuki Fronx scored 15.27 points. This total was derived from the Dynamic Test (17.94 points), Vehicle-Based (9 points), Installation (12 points), while Child Detection scored 0 points.
This Indonesian-made SUV also achieved a positive result in SA with 15.27 points. The Suzuki Fronx recorded 6 points for Effective Braking & Avoidance, 4.5 points for Seatbelt Reminders, 3 points for Autonomous Emergency Braking, and 3 points for Advanced SATs.
Finally, for MS, a signature ASEAN NCAP test, it received 10 points. The assessment was based on Blind Spot Detection (4.8 points), headlights (1.2 points), and pedestrian protection (2 points).
Unfortunately, the car failed to score points for Rear Visualization and Advanced MST.
The safety features on the Suzuki Fronx are quite comprehensive. It is equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR), Pedestrian Protection (PP), and ISOFIX for child seats.
This model also offers several safety assistance technologies, including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA).
In Indonesia, the Suzuki Fronx is offered at prices ranging from IDR 259 million to IDR 321.9 million.
