KatadataOTO – Chery introduced their newest product in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment, the prototype Chery T1TP, at the Chery Brand Night event themed Co-Create the New Move in Wuhu, China.

However, unlike typical 7-seater SUVs, the Chery T1TP emphasizes a user co-creation initiative with a 7-Seat Transformable Multi-SUV concept.

The uniqueness Chery wants to highlight is the T1TP's flexibility. The SUV can be transformed into a double cabin pickup truck in a short time, according to the user's needs.

This is expected to meet the needs of users who use the vehicle for family mobility.

Indonesia became one of the locations where Chery's product team conducted product development research, along with several other countries like Mexico and Thailand.

The research, which began in February 2024, was conducted by 20 members of Chery's product team over 300 days in various international markets.

From the study, 1,350 user samples and more than 40,000 responses were collected. Among the many diverse answers, there was one commonality: the need for a vehicle that can adapt to various life situations.

“It is precisely these user insights that drive us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation,” said Zheng Songzhi, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery, in his official statement, quoted on Wednesday (22/10).

He further explained that user needs led Chery to adopt a strategic approach oriented towards scenarios or concrete situations.

The innovative ‘one vehicle, six configurations’ concept allows the rear doors and seats of the Chery T1TP to be rearranged into a double cabin.

In total, there are six different configurations that can be applied to the Chery T1TP. All of them feature a 'house on wheels' visual with spacious dimensions.

Thanks to an interior height of 1,284 mm, even children can stand upright in the Chery T1TP's cabin.

When converted into a double cabin, users are presented with a cargo space of 500  600 liters with adjustable tie-down points and dividers for carrying loads.

Additionally, the Chery T1TP can also be converted into a campervan for camping needs, equipped with a rooftop tent, a rear entertainment screen, and an external power source.

To accommodate more user needs, Chery will introduce additional transformation modes and official accessory packages for the T1TP.

The Chery T1TP will be officially launched in the third quarter of 2026, offering a new mobility option for family needs.
