KatadataOTO – The battery endurance test for the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH, which was submerged for more than 50 hours, has ended. During the event, the manufacturer successfully demonstrated that the power storage source could still function well.

In fact, the power was claimed to have not diminished, and the car could be used immediately after the battery was reinstalled.

“So after the test, the battery was immediately installed and everything functioned well. There were no errors or anything because the car was also driven,” said Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (19/06).

This activity is expected to demonstrate the quality of the vehicle that has been marketed in Indonesia. So that the public can be more confident when traveling with the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH.

“We were actually quite worried because this was the first time it was tested in public; usually, it's only in the laboratory. However, it can also be proof that the vehicle can operate after being tested under extreme conditions,” he then added.

He also added that this testing is actually not yet fully complete. Because several other countries will also conduct some tests.

“Previously in China, the car was rolled over, then in Indonesia, the battery was submerged in seawater. Next, there will be a crash test in Mexico, followed by tests in the Middle East, and finally in Brazil,” he explained.

It should be noted that the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is Chery's newest model sold in the country. This car has already been ordered for 2,000 units and is expected to continue to increase in the future.

The Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is equipped with a 1,500 cc turbocharged engine capable of producing 342 hp and a peak torque of 525 Nm, delivered to the two front wheels. For optimal fuel consumption, the car is fitted with an 18.3 kWh capacity battery.

Thanks to this, the unit can travel up to 90 km without the engine's assistance. Meanwhile, the driving range with a full battery and gas tank can reach 1,300 km.

The power storage source has also obtained IP68 waterproof certification, is water-resistant, and can operate normally in various conditions within a temperature range of -35 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.
