KatadataOTO – The presence of the Intelligent Box, or commonly called a refrigerator, in the Aion V has caught public attention. This is because the feature can make it easier for owners to maintain the temperature of food or drinks, especially during long-distance travel.
However, this feature also raises questions for many people about whether it consumes battery power and reduces the driving range.
“Regarding electricity consumption, it does exist, but the power is not large, only 0.5 kW over 24 hours if the car is stationary. Meanwhile, when the car is running, it might reduce the driving range by about 5 percent,” said Iqbal Taufiqqurahman, Product Planning & Strategy at Aion Indonesia.
Not only that, he also emphasized that the Intelligent Box in the Aion V will automatically turn off if the battery is almost depleted.
“The Intelligent Box will automatically turn off when the battery power is down to 10 percent. So the car can still move to find a charging station,” he then added.
In addition, Aion has also prepared several features to ensure the vehicle's safety.
“We have installed a thermostat so the temperature will be maintained according to the set limits. This reduces the risk of damage due to being too hot or too cold,” Iqbal then said.
It should be noted that the Aion V was officially launched at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025. The car is sold at prices ranging from IDR 449 million to IDR 489 million.
From the exterior, the car has a slightly boxy appearance but seems quite tough compared to other electric vehicles in its class.
Inside the cabin, the Aion V looks quite luxurious thanks to seats designed to resemble butterflies and an available eight-point massage feature. The seatbacks can also be reclined up to 137 degrees, making rest more comfortable.
The Aion V is equipped with a 72.3 kWh capacity battery. When fully charged, the manufacturer claims the car can travel up to 600 km on a single charge.
This means the car can be used from Jakarta to Yogyakarta without needing to recharge. This will certainly make it easier for people, especially on long-distance journeys.
The Aion V comes in 7 color options: Sea Fluorescent Gray, Sunset Orange + White Roof, Artic White, Sunset Orange, Galaxy Blue, Night Shadow Black, Sunset Orange + White Roof, Galaxy Blue + White Roof, and Wilderness Sand.
The Aion V is sold in two variants and is priced from IDR 449 million to 489 million.
