KatadataOTO – Toyota is optimistic that the bZ4X, which they will launch in the fourth quarter, will be well-received by the public. This is because they have made thorough preparations to ensure an optimal user experience.

Not just the sales network, they have also built a complete electric vehicle ecosystem to provide peace of mind during ownership.

“Toyota is very serious in preparing for something. This is evident from the moment we first brought in the bZ4X; we built its ecosystem, and now there are 118 public EV charging stations available,” said Jap Ernando Demily, Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor.

In addition to dealerships, they have also opened facilities in public places so customers can more easily charge their vehicles while traveling. Furthermore, Toyota has built a maintenance network throughout Indonesia.

“We already have around 300 outlets and 1,000 part shops, so Toyota is present everywhere to ensure easier vehicle maintenance,” said Ernando.

It was previously reported that the Toyota bZ4X will be produced locally in Indonesia. Unlike the global version, the car will only be available in a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) option.

However, in terms of appearance, the car has not undergone many changes. The Japanese manufacturer will retain the hammerhead headlight design on the front but make it more assertive.

The car is also equipped with a thin LED bar connecting the DRL (Daytime Running Light), making it look sleeker.

Inside the cabin, Toyota has installed a 14-inch infotainment screen ready to indulge passengers during the journey. Additionally, the car is equipped with a dual wireless charger and 64-color ambient lighting.

The FWD version of the Toyota bZ4X uses a 74.7 kWh capacity battery, sufficient for a journey of up to 505 km. Its charging is also considered fast, as it only takes about 30 minutes to go from 10 percent to 80 percent.

Although it is produced locally, the Toyota bZ4X is estimated to not yet use many domestic components. However, it is hoped that the number will increase over time.
