Toyota Urban Cruiser Launches at GJAW 2025, No Long Waiting Period

KatadataOTO – Toyota Urban Cruiser is present at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025. Unlike the Veloz and bZ4X which are already locally produced, this car is still fully imported directly from India.

The car was previously introduced at the GIIAS 2025 event. However, at that time, Toyota had not explicitly announced its launch date.

The presence of this car is believed to be a new option for people who want to own an electric vehicle.

“Both the Toyota bZ4X and the Urban Cruiser are already on sale and there is no waiting list,” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President of Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) on the sidelines of the launch.

It should be noted that the Toyota Urban Cruiser is a twin of the Suzuki e-Vitara. However, each company has its own concept.

In general, the Toyota Urban Cruiser comes with a softer aura than the bZ4X. Nevertheless, its appearance remains sporty thanks to the use of a lower bumper and two-tone wheels.

Its dimensions cannot be called small, as it has a length of 4,285 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, a height of 1,635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Meanwhile, the ground clearance reaches 180 mm.

The interior appearance is no less attractive. This is because the car is equipped with a dashboard featuring 12-color Ambient Light.

The manufacturer also combines brown and black colors in the cabin. Making its appearance more attractive.

The luxurious impression is further enhanced as the car is equipped with a Panoramic Roof. Additionally, Toyota has installed a Wireless Charger so users don't run out of smartphone battery.

To accompany the journey, Toyota has installed a 10.1-inch head unit display. This accessory is then paired with JBL Premium Speakers to provide more optimal audio.

As for its performance, the Toyota Urban Cruiser uses a 61 kWh capacity battery. This power is channeled to an electric motor with an output of 128 kW or 171.6 hp and 192.5 Nm of torque.

A number of safety features have also been embedded. Starting from the Brake Support System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring to Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Just like the bZ4X, the Urban Cruiser comes with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. Customers are also entitled to a free battery check every six months for 3-5 years.

Currently, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is sold for Rp 759 million.
