Neta Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to develop the domestic automotive market, despite neighboring countries currently facing immense pressure.

KatadataOTO – Neta Indonesia asserts that the situation occurring in Thailand will not affect them. The Chinese manufacturer revealed that plans to develop the domestic automotive market are still proceeding as normal.
They remain committed to providing alternative options for electric vehicles in the country.
“Regarding the issue in Thailand, we cannot comment. But Neta Indonesia will continue to focus on providing the best service to consumers in the country,” affirmed Fajrul Ilhami, External Affairs and Product Director of PT Neta Auto Indonesia.
He added that his party is ready to launch a new model to strengthen Neta's position in the country.
“We are ready to introduce a new model as a form of commitment and to maintain Neta's sustainability in the country. We will also continue to develop our dealer partners to reach at least 40 dealerships by the end of the year,” he then affirmed.
This number is a significant increase compared to the current 15 outlets.
It was previously reported that Neta would lay off 400 workers in Thailand due to declining sales. Significantly, market demand for their products in 2024 fell by up to 45 percent compared to the previous year.
Restructuring was forced to be carried out so that the company could survive in the Land of the White Elephant. Reported from The Nation, the 400 workers are employees of Neta Auto Thailand and Bangchan General Assembly.
Still from the same source, from January to November 2024, Neta Auto Thailand only sold 6,534 units. This figure is considered very low, considering they have sold three models simultaneously: Neta V, V-II, and X.
The company reportedly suffered a net loss of 1.8 billion Baht or around IDR 859.2 billion in 2023. This is despite the fact that in the previous year, they managed to make a profit of 80.77 million Baht or IDR 38.5 billion.
In addition to domestic pressure, pressure also comes from Neta's parent company, Hozon Auto. They are reportedly experiencing financial problems due to a decline in sales.
The company even had to halt production at its factory in Zhejiang and lay off a number of employees.
