KatadataOTO – VinFast continues to entice consumers in Indonesia. They are introducing a variety of electric cars for the domestic market.
Recently, the Vietnamese company admitted it is preparing a new Electric Vehicle (EV) to be sold in the country.
“There will be a new product,” said Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, Country CEO of VinFast Indonesia in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/06).
Kariyanto stated that VinFast's new electric car will be launched soon.
It is even said to be brought to the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 exhibition held next month.
Unfortunately, Kariyanto was unwilling to provide further information about their new electric four-wheeled vehicle.
Including when asked about their new electric car which has been registered on the official website of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI).
“Just wait (for the launch of the VinFast electric car), stay tuned,” Kariyanto affirmed.
As a reminder, a few days ago KatadataOTO reported on a new VinFast EV that has been registered on the official DJKI website.
This was noted in the Official Gazette of Industrial Design No. 32/DI/2025, and was announced on May 27, 2025.
The application number is A00202502638, while the design applicant is listed as VinFast Trading and Production Joint Stock Company Dinh Hu in Vietnam.
In the data, the exterior of the VinFast car has a minimalist look. In terms of design, it looks similar to the Seres E1 and Wuling Air ev.
There are only three doors, believed to be similar to its rivals already sold in Indonesia with a 4-seater configuration. The characteristic V-shaped taillight is retained on this small electric four-wheeled vehicle.
The model registered this time is named Minio Green in its home country. It was officially introduced in February 2025.
The vehicle is VinFast's smallest car with dimensions of 3,090 mm in length, 1,496 mm in width, 1,625 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,065 mm.
The battery capacity of the VinFast Minio Green is not detailed, but it is claimed to offer a range of up to 180 km on a single charge.
The Minio Green's electric motor can produce 20 kW of power, equivalent to 26.8 hp, while its peak torque of 65 Nm is sent to the rear wheels, also known as Rear Wheel Drive (RWD).
The top speed of the Minio Green is limited to 85 km per hour. Meanwhile, acceleration from 0-50 km per hour can be achieved in 6.5 seconds.
