KatadataOTO – VinFast wants to show its commitment to marketing electric cars. The Vietnamese company wants to build an Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem.
This manufacturer plans to build 63,000 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) units in the country.
“One of our expansion strategies is to develop the ecosystem throughout Indonesia,” said Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia in Jakarta some time ago.
Kariyanto explained that to realize this plan, they are implementing it through their subsidiary, V-Green.
He also hopes to meet all the needs of VinFast electric car users in the country.
“People must be confident in buying an electric car. One of the most important things is the charging,” he said.
He further explained that the availability of special SPKLUs for VinFast EVs is still growing.
“Together with V-Green, we will expand together (in Indonesia),” Kariyanto stated.
The target of 63,000 SPKLUs is part of their investment plan of 1.2 billion US dollars (USD) or IDR 18.6 trillion.
This investment has indeed been planned by VinFast together with V-Green and Prime Group, a company from the United Arab Emirates.
This project targets the development of up to 100,000 charging points in Indonesia over the next three years.
“For V-Green SPKLUs, the number is always changing. You can check it on the official VinFast Indonesia website,” Kariyanto affirmed.
On the other hand, VinFast not only wants to increase the number of SPKLUs to pamper its customers. They also intend to expand their dealer network in the country.
So far, this EV manufacturer has opened 22 dealerships spread across various regions of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the after-sales network is targeted to reach up to 500 workshops, including collaborations with third parties.
“We want customers to reach VinFast more easily. That's why we are opening showrooms in many cities while also preparing an adequate service network,” he concluded.
Finally, the VinFast electric car factory in Subang, West Java is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
Kariyanto stated that the VinFast factory in Subang will have a production capacity of up to 50,000 electric cars per year.
Then, the Vietnamese manufacturer claimed to have already decided on the first electric car model to be produced in Subang, namely the VinFast VF 3.
