To accommodate electric vehicle consumers, VinFast is set to build 30,000 charging stations in Indonesia throughout 2025.
KatadataOTO – Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, VinFast, has set a target to build at least 30,000 charging stations throughout 2025. This is being done to accommodate the needs of all VinFast consumers in the future.
Additionally, VinFast electric cars are already being used as online taxi fleets. Therefore, the presence of charging stations will greatly assist the drivers.
The certainty regarding VinFast's charging station target was recently revealed by the Minister of SOEs (State-Owned Enterprises), during the signing of a cooperation agreement with PSSI (The Football Association of Indonesia).
“So (VinFast) comes in, helps the community, provides taxis. Then they help again by investing in 30,000 charging stations,” said Erick Thohir, Minister of SOEs and Chairman of PSSI at JIExpo Kemayoran, Saturday (22/2).
Not only charging stations, he confirmed that VinFast's plan to build a factory in the country is also still underway.
Erick emphasized that this will have a positive impact on many parties. One of which is the creation of new job opportunities once the factory is officially operational.
“I appreciate the commitment that VinFast has given to Indonesia and the Indonesian football team. Because I have also studied VinFast's commitment, they come to Indonesia to build an ecosystem,” stressed the Minister of SOEs.
For your information, VinFast has just launched a new model with a competitive price tag of around IDR 227.6 million, namely the VinFast VF 3.
Present at the IIMS 2025 automotive exhibition, the brand is offering a discount in the form of an IDR 7.8 million cashback specifically for the first 1,000 buyers of the VinFast VF 3.
To attract potential customers, VinFast is also providing free charging for users until March 1, 2028.
Then there is a resale value guarantee, which is a concern for many four-wheeled vehicle users before buying a car.
Later, the consumer's VinFast vehicle will go through an inspection and eligibility confirmation to opt for a trade-in for a new model. This is claimed to help people purchase vehicles with the latest, ever-evolving technology.
If interested, the VinFast VF 3 can be seen in person during the IIMS 2025 event, which will end today, Sunday (23/2).
