KatadataOTO – Volkswagen Indonesia has established a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.
Their collaboration is part of the “New Buzz in Life” campaign that Volkswagen has been promoting since the beginning of the year.
This is a celebration of creativity, expression, and cross-sector collaboration in Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, Volkswagen aims to build a deeper connection between the automotive world, culture, and the nation's youth creative movement.
The electric car Volkswagen ID Buzz was turned into an unusual medium for artistic expression by two young IP artists under Ekraf's guidance, Beemala and Tenka Street.
They performed live painting directly on the body of the Volkswagen ID Buzz during the GIIAS 2025 event.
This creative process can be witnessed by visitors at the Volkswagen booth, and the final result will be officially unveiled on August 1, 2025.
“The collaboration between Volkswagen and IP Beemala Tenka is like a hidden gem; it can be an example of creative cross-sector collaboration, including with the automotive industry," said Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia at GIIAS 2025, on Tuesday (23/07).
She mentioned the collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Volkswagen as a real example of inter-sector synergy that has a broad impact, especially in the creative industry.
"As The New Engine of Growth, the Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to foster real collaborations, bringing creative champions to be recognized and make an impact nationally and on the global stage,” Irene continued.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Ahmad Badawi, Head of Sales & Marketing for Volkswagen Indonesia. He stated that this collaboration is not just about the product.
But it is also part of a cultural movement that unites communities and provides a space for the younger generation to express themselves.
“Volkswagen believes that collaboration is not just about presenting a work of art, but also about becoming a cultural movement that unites communities and opens up space for the creativity of the younger generation,” said Badawi.
For your information, the Volkswagen ID Buzz electric car is equipped with an 86 kWh capacity battery, which is sufficient for a journey of up to 487 km.
This power is used to operate an electric motor with 281 hp and 560 Nm of torque.
This Electric Vehicle (EV) is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.9 seconds. Meanwhile, its maximum speed reaches 160 km per hour.
The VW ID Buzz LWB is priced at IDR 1.495 billion and is available in various colors with two-tone and mono-tone shades.
