KatadataOTO – Convention Car is a type of diecast from Hot Wheels that is produced exclusively in each country. The product will later be sought after by collectors.

This year, for the first time, the special Hot Wheels Convention Car for Indonesia will be launched at the Indonesia Modification and Lifestyle Expo or IMX 2025.

Amidst the many new four-wheeled vehicle products from China and Japan, Hot Wheels has chosen Porsche as the basis for the Convention Car for Indonesia.

Not without reason, Hot Wheels explained that the brand is once again in demand by many circles and is easily recognizable.

“Hot Wheels looks at what is actually on the rise right now,” opened Radithya Pradana, Asst. Brand Manager Vehicles & Games Category Mattel SEA when met in Jakarta, Thursday (21/08).

He did not deny that several brands from Japan are currently popular. However, Porsche is considered to have its own appeal not only for adults, but also for children.

“Porsche is increasingly in demand by children, in demand by collectors. So it seems 2025 is the year of Porsche, of course after discussions with (Hot Wheels) global as well,” said Radithya.

He emphasized that interested collectors and fans can see and buy the Hot Wheels Convention Car diecast directly when IMX 2025 is held on October 10-12 at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

For your information, the Hot Wheels Convention Car for Indonesia is based on the Porsche 911 Carrera RS.

Not only the diecast, a 1:1 version built by Retouch Pro will also be exhibited to visitors at the IMX 2025 exhibition.

The Porsche diecast car will be sold exclusively in limited quantities, just like other Convention Cars.

“We can't reveal the quantity (of the Convention Car diecast) yet, but it is very limited, and there is an even more limited version,” said Radithya.

Besides Indonesia, Hot Wheels will also launch a series of other Convention Cars throughout this year, including for the Philippines, Malaysia, and Australia.

“There are five types of cars that global collectors must collect, the packaging is unique,” Radithya concluded.
