KatadataOTO – PT HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) had previously limited the use of Hyundai's battery charging facilities, which are spread across several locations.

So, only Hyundai car users could use the charging stations from the South Korean manufacturer. This decision was made to prioritize Hyundai customers so they wouldn't have to bother with queuing.

However, Hyundai recently reopened access to its charging stations with a subscription scheme. Prices start from around Rp 170,000, depending on the charging quota.

“As one of the EV (Electric Vehicle) leaders in Indonesia, we are committed to making electric vehicles more mainstream,” said Hendry Pratama, Head of Corporate Strategy Department at PT HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia), on the sidelines of IIMS 2025, Monday (17/2).

He explained that this is also a form of Hyundai's commitment to prioritizing the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, especially battery charging stations.

According to him, the uneven distribution of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) is one of the reasons people are hesitant to use electric cars.

Therefore, Hyundai will open access to its charging stations for electric car consumers who wish to subscribe.

Regarding the purchase, prospective customers just need to download the myHyundai application to use Hyundai's charging stations. Payment can be made through various platforms such as debit cards or Gopay.

“Access is now open and can be enjoyed not only by Hyundai vehicles but also non-Hyundai ones, starting February 3, 2025,” he affirmed.

For your information, Hyundai's subscription program is claimed to offer advantages such as being 47 percent more efficient compared to other public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU).

Not only that, the locations are increasingly widespread, with 296 points that can be found through the myHyundai application. Its charging station partners are diverse, including Voltron, Casion, Buzz, and Daya Green.

The three packages available are Basic EV, Smart EV, and Comfort EV. Prices range from Rp 170,000 to Rp 600,000 for non-Hyundai brand vehicles.
