Wuling Still Awaits Continuation of Hybrid Car Incentive Regulations

KatadataOTO – The government has officially prepared a three percent hybrid car incentive with a number of requirements. Manufacturers are asked to register immediately to enjoy this government assistance.

Wuling Almaz Hybrid is one of the models that has the potential to meet the requirements. Because it is already locally assembled at the Wuling factory in Cikarang, and the TKDN (Local Component Level) of the Almaz Hybrid has reached 40 percent.

However, Wuling is still waiting for detailed regulations on the hybrid car incentive before registering the Almaz Hybrid.

“We are currently waiting for further regulations or rules regarding this incentive,” said Brian Gomgom, PR Manager of Wuling Motors in his statement to KatadataOTO, Thursday (2/1).

He did not explain in more detail whether the price of the Almaz Hybrid could later decrease due to the hybrid car incentive. However, he emphasized that Wuling appreciates the existence of supporting policies for hybrid vehicles.

“Of course, this can be a stimulus and boost consumer purchasing power,” he asserted.

For your information, Wuling is one of the manufacturers that is quite aggressive in bringing in environmentally friendly vehicles. They also have three locally assembled electric car models from Cikarang, namely the Air ev, BinguoEV, and Cloud EV.

The Air ev itself is the cheapest electric car option in the country. The lowest type is the Air ev Lite Standard Range at a price of Rp 179.1 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Wuling Almaz Hybrid is their first HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle). In terms of design, it looks the same as the previous Almaz, but with an added Hybrid emblem.

This car was launched in November 2022 with a price tag of Rp 470 million. The Almaz Hybrid is also equipped with a number of modern features like those embedded in the gasoline engine version of the Almaz RS.

The Wuling Almaz Hybrid carries a 2,000 cc four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor, producing 174 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.

To increase efficiency, there is an EV Mode on the Almaz Hybrid where the wheels can be driven by the electric motor with power from the battery. The other two modes are Series Hybrid and Parallel Hybrid, a combination of the electric motor and gasoline engine working together.

Currently, the Wuling Almaz Hybrid is offered in only one variant. The price is Rp 442 million OTR Jakarta.
