KatadataOTO – Xpeng is ready to sell its flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier Modular Flying Car, in China starting this year. Various preparations have been made, including ensuring the vehicle meets existing regulations.

The presence of the flying car is believed to be able to increase the mobility of people who have so far only focused on land vehicles. Moreover, they claim to have developed the unit to be easy for the public to use.

“Our flying car is designed to be easy to drive because it only uses a single lever to control it. There is no longer a need to perform procedures like a helicopter,” said Wang Tan, Co-founder, Vice President and Chief Designer of Xpeng AeroHT.

He even claims that a person only needs three minutes to be able to control it. Training can also be done on the simulator they provide.

“I guarantee that it only takes three minutes to be able to control it. Meanwhile, to truly master it only takes three hours,” he then added.

The short training time shows that the vehicle is indeed very easy to master.

Xpeng is one of the manufacturers that is quite focused on developing flying vehicles in the world. They are even preparing to sell the Land Aircraft Carrier Modular Flying Car in China in the near future.

This model combines a carrier vehicle, like an aircraft carrier, with a drone that can be ridden.

Besides being easy to use, the vehicle is equipped with various advantages for maximum performance when used. One of them is a fairly long flight range, yet its charging time remains short.

For a 20 km journey, the drone only requires 20 minutes of charging. These many advantages make them confident they can sell quite a lot from the first year.

“We are optimistic that at least 200 units will be sold this year, then increasing to 500 units next year,” he then added.

However, it cannot be denied that the price tag is quite high. Xpeng revealed that the Land Aircraft Carrier Modular Flying Car will be priced at USD 300,000 or the equivalent of IDR 5 billion.
