KatadataOTO – Xpeng Motors, a Chinese car manufacturer, is targeting 50 percent of its sales to come from international markets. They are optimistic that this goal can be achieved in the next 10 years, or around 2035.

That number is much higher than last year's international achievement, which was only 10 percent. Therefore, the company will prepare various strategies to achieve the target.

He Xiaopeng, CEO of Xpeng Motors, revealed that his company will enter 60 countries by the end of 2025. This number has doubled from last year.

The Chinese manufacturer is also optimistic it can ship at least 380,000 vehicles by the end of the year. If achieved, it will have successfully doubled its sales compared to last year.

Not only that, Volkswagen has also invested USD 700 million and acquired a 4.99 percent stake in Xpeng. This partnership is considered important for both companies as it is mutually beneficial.

For Volkswagen, this partnership allows them to develop VW-branded compact electric vehicles for the Chinese market. The car is planned to be launched in 2026.

Meanwhile for Xpeng, future sales targets will be easier to achieve.  Moreover, the company will focus on its presence in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America.

They will also invest heavily in a number of major automotive markets, including Indonesia.

In a significant move, they are also reportedly planning to build a factory in Indonesia. Its presence is very important as this will be Xpeng's first production facility outside of China.

Unfortunately, they have not yet announced when construction will begin and what models will be produced. However, this promise could be proof of their commitment to developing the automotive industry in the future.

It was previously reported that Xpeng has introduced two of its products for Indonesia. These models are the G6 and X9, which are planned to go on sale in the middle of this year.

Both are claimed to have a variety of interesting advantages that can meet the needs of the people in Indonesia.
