KatadataOTO – Many parties are awaiting the realization of the electric motorcycle subsidy in 2025. One of them is AHM (Astra Honda Motor).
The Japanese manufacturer hopes that whatever the scheme, this assistance can be implemented soon.
“We are waiting and hoping that it can still continue. But we will follow the government's regulations,” said Octavianus Dwi, Marketing Director of AHM at IIMS 2025 some time ago.
Meanwhile, when asked about the proposed change to the electric motorcycle subsidy scheme this year, Octa explained that they would comply.
Considering that what was issued by President Prabowo Subianto and his ministers has gone through various considerations.
“We are still waiting, we will definitely support whatever the government decides later,” Octa affirmed.
For your information, the fate of the electric motorcycle subsidy is still being left hanging by policymakers. They have yet to disburse the assistance.
Yet, the subsidy for purchasing EVs (Electric Vehicles) is highly anticipated by the public and manufacturers in the country.
On the other hand, the Minister of Industry had leaked information about the fate of the electric motorcycle subsidy in 2025. According to him, the government is still discussing it.
“The electric motorcycle subsidy will be (finalized) soon, it's already being finished up,” said Agus Gumiwang, the Minister of Industry, on a different occasion.
Agus admitted that the government is currently calculating the amount of assistance to be given to the public in the country.
Therefore, they cannot yet confirm whether the form of the electric motorcycle subsidy in 2025 will be the same as last year or not.
“It is still being processed and calculated, but it will definitely happen. So the electric motorcycle subsidy will be released soon,” Agus stated.
Meanwhile, according to circulating rumors, this assistance will no longer be in the form of a Rp 7 million price cut per unit.
However, Aismoli (Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association) revealed that the government will distribute it in a new form.
“From what we have heard (about the form of the electric motorcycle subsidy), it will likely be a Government-Borne VAT (Value Added Tax) for this year,” said Budi Setiyadi, Chairman of Aismoli, when contacted by KatadataOTO some time ago.
Even so, Budi could not yet provide definite information regarding the purchase assistance for electric two-wheelers to be provided by President Prabowo and his ministers in 2025.
