KatadataOTO – The new motorcycle market in Indonesia has once again shown negative performance. This situation occurred in the September 2025 period.
Processing data from the official website of the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) on Thursday (09/10), the distribution of new two-wheeled vehicles from factory to dealer (wholesales) last month was only 567,173 units.
When observed, the figure above shows a decrease of about 1.8 percent compared to August 2025.
This is because one month earlier, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and TVS distributed 578,041 new motorcycles.
Meanwhile, when accumulated from January to September 2025, there were 4,836,173 two-wheeled vehicles.
Again, when compared to the same period in 2024, it dropped by 0.75 percent from 4,872,509 units.
This condition is certainly quite concerning. Considering the new motorcycle market was vibrant in July 2025.
In that month, it managed to record a figure of 587,048 units. That number became the temporary highest for 2025.
However, the domestic two-wheeled vehicle market slowly weakened again from August to September 2025.
This shows the market in the country is not doing well. Coupled with an economic condition that has not yet recovered.
On the other hand, the IMOS 2025 event was hoped to help the new motorcycle market skyrocket again.
Especially since the exhibition, which took place at ICE BSD from September 24-28, 2025, offered various attractive programs.
