New Motorcycle Wholesales Rose Again in June 2025, Exports Fell

KatadataOTO – The new motorcycle market in Indonesia is once again showing positive results. Especially throughout June 2025 or last month.

According to a report from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) on their official website on Monday (07/07), last month there were 509,326 units shipped from factories to dealers (wholesales).

The number above shows an increase compared to May 2025. Because the previous month was at 505,350 two-wheeled vehicles.

This means new motorcycle wholesales in the country last month showed an increase of 0.75 percent.

However, when compared to the same period in June 2024, new motorcycle wholesales in May were corrected by 0.34 percent.

Meanwhile, cumulatively from January to June 2025, there have been 3,104,629 two-wheeled vehicles shipped from factories to dealers.

That figure is down about two percent compared to the same period last year, which was 3,170,994 new motorcycles.

There is a difference of up to 66,365 units from that achievement. So manufacturers have to work extra hard again.

On the other hand, the new motorcycle export market actually experienced a decline last month when compared to May 2025.

From an initial 49,618 two-wheeled vehicles, it became only 46,096 units. Meaning it dropped by about seven percent.

However, the new motorcycle export figure in June 2025 is still higher than June of last year which was only 42,939 two-wheeled vehicles.

Nevertheless, the achievement above is a breath of fresh air for Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfg (YIMM) and others.

Considering the market conditions throughout 2025 have been quite challenging. Because there has been a decrease in purchasing power and a weak economic condition.
