KatadataOTO – 455,994 vehicles have returned to Jabotabek from March 31 to April 2, 2025. This number is an increase of 17.3 percent compared to normal traffic (388,634 vehicles).
Jasa Marga revealed that this is a combination from four main toll gates. Starting from Cikampek Utama (from Trans Java), Kalihurip Utama (Bandung), Cikupa (Merak), and Ciawi (Puncak).
The total traffic volume returning to Jabotabek increased by 17.3 percent compared to normal traffic (388,634 vehicles). The distribution of traffic returning to Jabotabek comes from three directions, with the majority of 215,044 cars (47.2 percent) from the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 128,694 units (28.2 percent) from the West (Merak), and another 112,256 (24.6 percent) from the South (Puncak).
To avoid congestion, Jasa Marga has collaborated with the police to prepare a number of traffic engineering schemes on several toll road sections.
“We have prepared a more flexible scheme for the travelers,” explained Police Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps.
The police have even started implementing a contraflow system from KM 70 to KM 55. Meanwhile, on Thursday (04/03), they also prepared a local one-way scheme from KM 188 to KM 70.
This similar traffic engineering could even be extended to KM 246 of the Pejagan Toll Road if deemed necessary.
“If there is a surge in the return flow on April 5 and 6, 2025, we will implement a national one-way system starting at KM 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Road to facilitate travelers returning to the city,” he affirmed.
Not only that, they will also open the functional Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) II South toll road. This freeway will be functional for 30 kilometers from Sadang to Cibatu to help ease the density of the return flow from the direction of Bandung.
Jasa Marga is also providing an incentive in the form of a toll fee exemption on the Padaleunyi and Cipularang toll roads, which are managed by the Jasa Marga Group.
The incentive applies to all vehicle classes with all payment methods, specifically for users making long-distance journeys. Starting from the Cisumdawu Utama toll gate to Kalihurip Utama over a distance of 150 km and to the Sadang toll road over a distance of 140 km.
