KatadataOTO – Five sections of the Trans Sumatra toll road will be free of charge during this year's Lebaran return traffic period. This policy is applied to several new and functional toll roads and is expected to make it easier for people to return to their hometowns.
The five Trans Sumatra toll roads consist of two sections that are operated without a tariff or are not yet tolled. Meanwhile, the other three are still functional.
The toll roads that are already operational but still without a tariff are the Betung - Tempino - Jambi (Betajam) Toll Road Section 3 (Bayung Lencir - Tempino) and the Binjai - Langsa (Binsa) Toll Road Section Tanjung Pura - Pangkalan Brandan.
Then, three other sections are opened functionally and are also not yet tolled, namely the Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road Section Padang - Sicincin (Pacin), the Sigli - Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) Toll Road Section Padang Tiji – Seulimeum, and the Palembang - Betung (Paltung) Toll Road Section 2 Rengas/Musi Landas Toll Gate (GT) – Pangkalan Balai.
The opening of these functional sections will take place every day until April 10, 2025, from 08:00-17:00 WIB for the Pacin and Sibanceh Section 1 toll roads, while the Paltung Section 2 toll road will be operated from 07:00 WIB - 16:00 WIB.
“Specifically for the return traffic, a one-way scheme is implemented on the Palembang - Betung Toll Road from the direction of Jambi to Palembang. These three functional sections are only intended for category I (non-bus) vehicles such as private cars and other small vehicles,” said Adjib Al Hakim, Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, as reported by Antara (03/04).
Not only that, Hutama Karya is also providing a 20 percent toll tariff discount on the main sections of the JTTS during the 2025 Lebaran return traffic period.
This program applies to all vehicle classes for the longest distance travel and is implemented in two periods. The first is from April 3, 2025, at 07:00 WIB to April 5, 2025, at 07:00 WIB, and from April 8, 2025, at 07:00 WIB to April 10, 2025, at 07:00 WIB.
The tariff discount applies to the Terbanggi Besar – Kayu Agung (Terpeka), Indralaya – Prabumulih (Indraprabu), Pekanbaru – Dumai (Permai), Indrapura – Kisaran (Inkis), and Kuala Tanjung - Tebing Tinggi - Parapat (Kutepat) toll roads.
