Analyst Says Cakra Presisi System Still Open to Violation

“The number of CCTVs connected to the ETLE system in the Jakarta area is relatively limited, not proportional to the length of the roads,” said Budiyanto, a transportation and legal observer, in an official statement.

According to Budiyanto, this actually creates a loophole for drivers to commit violations.

Especially on road sections not monitored by ETLE. This will have a negative impact.

“This will lead to an increase in traffic violations on road sections without CCTV, which can cause chaos,” he said.

Budiyanto also believes that the limitations of ETLE will be a separate obstacle in the implementation of the Cakra Presisi system.

If a driver is caught committing a traffic violation by a static or mobile ETLE, the system will send a ticket via a WhatsApp message one minute later.

The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police will also implement a new policy, where the public is required to include their phone number when managing their Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK).

“This applies when registering a new vehicle, renewing, transferring ownership, and so on,” said Police Commissioner Latif Usman, Director of Traffic for the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

He added that the registered mobile phone number data of car and motorcycle owners will become the main database in the Cakra Presisi system.

“If a motor vehicle receives an ETLE notification via WhatsApp, the public must provide clarification on the website http://etle-pmj.id,” said Latif.

The violator must also fill in some data, starting from the vehicle's license plate number, mobile phone number, reference code, and others.

However, if you receive a notification but do not provide clarification, the vehicle's license plate number will be blocked.
