He lost his life in a traffic accident on the Pantura route in Mojosari Village, Asembagus District, Situbondo, East Java on Friday (14/02).

Before the incident, Renville was riding a black Harley Davidson with license plate number B 6789 A.

He was traveling from Surabaya towards Banyuwangi. At the scene, the victim collided with a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.

“The accident involving a big bike (motor gede) occurred around 09:00 AM this morning,” said AKBP Rezi Dharmawan, Situbondo Police Chief, to Antara.

Rezi explained that from the preliminary crime scene investigation, the Democratic Party's General Treasurer was riding his two-wheeled vehicle at high speed.

Then, a pickup truck suddenly intended to turn right, making it impossible for Renville Antonio to avoid it.

As a result, he directly hit the four-wheeled vehicle. Renville was thrown about 100 to 200 meters from the accident site.

The Democratic Party's General Treasurer then hit a tree on the side of the Pantura highway. His life could not be saved.

“The victim, the big bike rider, died at the scene. He has now been taken to Asembagus Hospital,” Rezi continued.

Meanwhile, Renville's motorcycle sustained several damages, such as the right-side box being destroyed.

Furthermore, the handlebars of the Democratic Party's General Treasurer's big bike also appeared bent due to the hard impact.

The visor also broke after hitting the pickup truck and the tree on the roadside.

On the other hand, the pickup truck driver is currently being questioned by officers from the Situbondo Police Traffic Unit at the Asembagus Police Station.

The Figure of Renville Antonio

Renville Antonio was known as a senior politician in the Democratic Party. He had served as the General Treasurer since 2020.

Previously, he had also been a member of the East Java Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). In the 2024 Legislative Election, Renville ran as a candidate from the Malang electoral district.

However, his effort was unsuccessful; he failed to secure a seat in Senayan.
