KatadataOTO – Traffic in East Jakarta is expected to be more congested in the coming months. In addition to many excavation sites, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will also carry out revitalization work on the Pedestrian Crossing Bridge (JPO) on Jalan Otto Iskandardinata (Otista).
To ensure the safety of road users, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub) will implement a number of traffic engineering measures. Thus, it is hoped that the flow of vehicles can continue to pass safely.
"In connection with the revitalization of the Gelanggang Remaja Transjakarta Bus Stop Pedestrian Bridge, which will last until December 15, 2025, the Transportation Agency is implementing traffic engineering," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara (13/08).
During the construction, road users can still cross using the zebra cross facility. A pedestrian signal light (pelican crossing) is also available, so the journey is expected to be safer.
Not only that, during the work, a section of the road will be closed. Therefore, the public is expected to adjust their travel schedules as traffic jams are anticipated.
In fact, Syafrin urged people to avoid that road section to prevent excessive congestion.
"Pay attention to the applicable traffic engineering, continue to obey the signs and instructions of officers in the field," Syafrin then said.
