KatadataOTO – The Central Java (Jateng) Provincial Government doesn't want to be left behind in giving a 2025 Eid gift. Especially for motorcycle and car owners in Solo, Semarang, and the surrounding areas.
Because they are offering relief in the form of an exemption or waiver of the principal arrears of vehicle tax as well as applicable fines.
Reporting from the official Jatengprov.go.id website, Tuesday (25/03), the program will be effective from April 8 to June 30, 2025.
It then targets taxpayers who have not paid their PKB (Motor Vehicle Tax) in recent years.
“We will waive the principal PKB tax and its fines. However, it is for a limited time,” said Ahmad Luthfi, Governor of Central Java.
Luthfi further stated that this relief is in accordance with the Governor's Regulation (Pergub) of Central Java Number 31 of 2024.
It explains the management of regional receivables. From the implementation of the tax relaxation based on this regulation, it is hoped to stimulate the settlement of PKB receivables up to Rp 2.8 trillion in Central Java.
Therefore, he hopes that car and motorcycle owners in his region will immediately take advantage of the motor vehicle tax relief.
“You must be quick, because this is the only opportunity we are giving,” said Luthfi.
Furthermore, if people want to get this relief, they can go directly to the nearest Samsat office.
Then, pay the current year's tax, or for 2025. By doing so, arrears and fines from the previous period that have not been paid will be automatically waived.
Luthfi also admitted to having coordinated with various parties to ensure the program runs smoothly. Starting from regional heads, the Central Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate, Bapenda (Regional Revenue Agency) to Jasa Raharja.
On the same occasion, Triadi, Head of the Jasa Raharja Central Java Regional Office, stated that they are also providing relief, namely by waiving the SWDKLLJ (Mandatory Road Traffic Accident Fund Contribution) fine.
Jasa Raharja is doing this to support the Central Java government's program to waive motor vehicle tax arrears and fines.
Through the various relief measures above, the Central Java Provincial Government continues its efforts to inform the public about the importance of paying taxes on time.
For example, by collaborating with or involving Bumdes (Village-Owned Enterprises) as one of the PKB payment partners there.
