Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road Under Repair, Contraflow Ready for Implementation

KatadataOTO – The Jakarta Cikampek toll road section is undergoing repairs again throughout the week. Although the toll road remains operational, this work is expected to disrupt traffic flow.

Therefore, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol is warning the public to anticipate their travel.

"During the maintenance work period, the Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road section, both towards Jakarta and Cikampek, will remain operating normally," said Amri Sanusi, Senior Manager Representative Office 1 of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (21/07).

There are at least three reconstruction jobs being carried out until the end of the week. The first is at Kilometer (Km) 26+195 to Km 26+352 on lane 1 and the outer shoulder towards Cikampek, starting from Saturday (19/7) to Wednesday (23/7).

Then, the "Cibatu On Ramp" lane 1 and the outer shoulder towards Cikampek from Saturday (19/7) to Wednesday (23/7). Next, at Km 60+045 to Km 59+965 on lane 1 towards Jakarta from Monday (21/7) to Sunday (27/7).

"The quality of the toll road needs to be maintained, so we are carrying out maintenance activities in the form of reconstruction at several points based on evaluation," he said.

Ria Marlinda Paallo, VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, revealed that her party has prepared mitigation procedures to avoid traffic congestion. These range from deploying officers and diverting the flow of affected vehicles before the work area to narrowing the work area.

"We have also prepared a contraflow scheme in case of congestion and are coordinating with the Highway Patrol Police regarding traffic management," she added.

Various outreach efforts have been made by installing outdoor media such as work advisory banners and "Dynamic Message Signs". This information is displayed in both directions of the Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road for road users.

The public is advised to anticipate their travel time, ensure their vehicles are in prime condition, and have sufficient electronic money balance. This is important to avoid congestion at the toll gates, as toll users may need to top up first.
