KatadataOTO – Welcoming the peak of the 2025 Eid return flow, the Metro Jaya Regional Police will implement several traffic engineering measures. One of them is by prioritizing the flow of vehicles coming from the Cikampek direction towards Jakarta.
With this, it is hoped that traffic flow in the Capital City can remain smooth and travelers can return home more quickly.
“We are implementing traffic engineering by giving priority to vehicles from the Cikampek direction. They have undertaken a long journey and spent a considerable amount of time,” said Inspector General Karyoto, Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, as reported by Antara (06/04).
This traffic engineering measure diverts vehicles from the Jagorawi direction towards Tanjung Priok.
“If the traffic conditions on the Jagorawi toll road return to normal, the flow into the city will be reopened. However, if it is congested, motorists will be diverted to the Tanjung Priok Ring Road," he said.
He stated that he has instructed all ranks of the Traffic Directorate and members of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2025 to closely monitor all toll road exits.
"Do not let congestion build up on the toll road. We also ask for the public's cooperation to remain orderly and follow the officers' instructions so that everyone can return home safely and comfortably,” Karyoto explained.
It should be noted that entering the peak of the return flow, the number of vehicles that have returned to Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok) up to D+3 of the Eid holiday reached 918,450 units.
This number is the total number of vehicles from March 31-April 4, 2025, from four Toll Gates (GT), namely the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate from the Trans-Java direction, the Kaliurip Utama Toll Gate and the Japek II South Functional Toll Gate from the Bandung direction, the Cikupa Toll Gate from the Merak direction, and the Ciawi Toll Gate from the Puncak direction.
PT Jasa Marga revealed that the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek at the four main toll gates has increased by 71.5 percent from normal traffic (138,917 units), reaching 238,283 vehicles. Therefore, traffic engineering must be implemented to avoid long congestions, especially on the toll roads.
