KatadataOTO – Vehicle tax amnesty has finally been officially implemented by the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta. This relief is granted to all motorcycle and car owners in the Capital City.
This decision was made as a gift to motorists in celebration of DKI Jakarta's 498th anniversary.
The removal of administrative sanctions for motor vehicle tax (PKB) will be carried out by the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).
“This policy is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency Number e-0046 of 2025 concerning the Ex-Officio Removal of Administrative Sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees,” reads the announcement on the official website of Bapenda DKI Jakarta, Friday (13/06).
Besides celebrating DKI Jakarta's anniversary, the motor vehicle tax amnesty is also to welcome the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
It was further explained that this policy was created as a commitment by the Regional Government to make Jakarta a friendly and just city.
“In this special moment for the citizens of Jakarta, the Regional Government wants to ease the burden on residents by removing sanctions so they can also feel the joy of DKI Jakarta's Anniversary and Indonesia's Independence Day,” they continued.
For your information, the Jakarta vehicle tax amnesty will start tomorrow, Saturday (14/06). It will then end on August 31, 2025.
Thus, administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payment of taxes owed or fines will be waived.
Therefore, the public does not need to apply to receive this policy, as it is granted automatically by the system upon payment.
“We will continue to work hard to ensure that every policy provided aims to improve the quality of life for residents,” said Lusiana Herawati, Head of Bapenda DKI Jakarta.
Lusiana stated that the celebration of DKI Jakarta's anniversary is a moment for them to express gratitude to the entire community.
For supporting and collaborating with them in paying regional taxes every year.
“We invite all residents who own motor vehicles and have not fulfilled their obligations to take advantage of this policy because the sanction waiver will only be given once,” Lusiana emphasized.
As a reminder, the plan for a motor vehicle tax amnesty had been mentioned by Pramono Anung Wibowo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, not long ago.
