KatadataOTO – The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) predicts that traffic has not yet reached its usual density. This is because some people have not yet returned from their out-of-town holidays.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the streets in the Capital City are still relatively empty, with congestion only visible in a few spots. However, this situation is not expected to last long.

“We predict that traffic flow in Jakarta will return to normal on Thursday (10/04)," said Syafrin Liputo, Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, as reported by Antara (09/04).

On that day, it is estimated that people who went to their hometowns will have all returned and resumed their activities. Thus, congestion in the Capital City is expected to occur again.

Based on KatadataOTO's monitoring, the density in the Cawang and Cililitan areas this morning is indeed lower than usual.

Although the roads are relatively empty, a number of traffic engineering measures have been reinstated as usual. This is done to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles in the Capital City after being suspended during the 2025 Eid holiday.

The traffic engineering measure is the Jakarta odd-even system, implemented at dozens of points to reduce density. This restriction is applied twice, in the morning and afternoon, as these are considered peak congestion times due to high public mobility.

To make the Jakarta odd-even system more effective, the police are implementing a contraflow system on the inner-city toll road from km 0+200 (Cawang) to km 7+200 (Semanggi) from 06:00 to 10:00 WIB.
