KatadataOTO – The Labor Day commemoration is expected to be attended by at least 200,000 people in Jakarta. They will come from various points to convey their aspirations to the government.

Although the main event will be held at the National Monument (Monas), the crowd is expected to fill eight other locations in Jakarta. Therefore, the police have advised the public to avoid these areas.

"We hope the roads can accommodate the movement of a very large number of laborers. This includes anticipating obstacles on several roads that are currently under construction," said Police Commissioner Komarudin, Director of Traffic for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, as reported by Antara (01/05).

He also confirmed that a security plan has been prepared, including placing National Police members on the buses used by the participants.

"This is expected to facilitate communication from the location, including for coordination during their return," he said.

Komarudin added that whenever there is a large event with significant public mobilization, obstacles usually occur.

"Such as people looking for parking spots, looking for buses that might be the same, and also mixing with other groups," he said.

The Metro Jaya Police have also prepared a number of parking areas for the demonstrators. It is hoped that this will help avoid traffic congestion.

To ensure the event runs smoothly, the Metro Jaya Police have prepared 13,252 joint personnel for security. This number consists of 9,591 National Police personnel, 3,385 military personnel, and 276 local government personnel.
